On Tuesday, hours after former President Donald Trump surrendered in Manhattan to be indicted, US Representative Nicole Malliotakis took to Twitter to push for a change of venue to Staten Island for the trial. She appeared on 710 WORā€™s Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning program to explain why she thinks the 45th President canā€™t get a fair trial.

ā€œThese charges would never have been brought against Donald Trump the real estate developer,ā€ Malliotakis (R- Staten Island/South Brooklyn) told Riedel and newsman Joe Bartlett, filling in for Berman. ā€œItā€™s because he is a political opponent, and the leading candidate for President, that this is happening. This is not just selective prosecution; I would even call it exclusive prosecution.ā€

Malliotakis was quick to point out that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg chose to pursue a case other prosecutors passed on when they had the opportunity. ā€œHe has spent all this time and energy and police resources, taxpayer money, on something that has no victims. Thereā€™s no crime that he can state that elevates this to a felony, and all while heā€™s not doing his job, which is to keep the people of this city safe.ā€
